Dez Bryant To The Green Bay Packers According to Jason Witten

Dez Bryant To The Green Bay Packers According to Jason Witten

Here's five reasons why the Packers should sign Dez Bryant.

Dez Bryant to the Green Bay Packers?

The former Dallas Cowboys tight end predicted former teammate and now unemployed receiver Dez Bryant would sign with the Packers, calling Green Bay a "great fit" for the Cowboys' all-time leader in touchdown catches, but the team isn't expected to pursue him, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. So, Witten might not be totally insane making the suggestion, though it does seem fairly outlandish given the Packers historical tendency to shy away from splashy free agent signings.

Though the Packers drafted three wide receivers in this year's NFL Draft, they lack established options after releasing Jordy Nelson, who signed with the Oakland Raiders.

J'Mon Moore in the fourth round, Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the fifth round and Equanimeous St.

Throw Randall Cobb and Jimmy Graham into the mix, and the Packers would have the best receiving corps in the NFL.

As for Jenkins - who was suspended for a game last season because he failed to return after the team's bye week - he has promised to be on better terms with management. So with Bryant leaving the Cowboys where will he be throwing up the X in 2018? Reports surfaced that the Ravens offered Bryant a multi-year contract, but apparently he turned it down in his quest for a one-year deal.

"Gone give us Dez for one year and watch how we become even more scary", Jenkins, the Giants cornerback, tweeted Monday night.

Rapoport did state that the Packers have been viewed as a potential landing spot for Bryant this offseason. Schefter asked. "I think he's going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers", Witten responded.

Witten, who noted he doesn't have any inside info on Green Bay, also pinpointed another possible landing spot for Bryant: the Saints.

It is a bit surprising that the month of May has already begun and a former superstar receiver is on the market.
