Rita Ora's New Single "Girls" Isn't All Fun And Games

Rita Ora's New Single

And Cardi B tweeted, too, in typical Cardi fashion: Whether or not "Girls" meant any harm, Hayley Kiyoko and others are constant reminders that the art we make and listen to does, ultimately, have an impact.

"Girls", she wrote, is "an accurate account of a very real and honest experience".

'I personally myself had experiences with other woman, shiieeett with a lot of woman!

The pair dated for a couple of months before splitting back in 2012, and at the time Rob claimed that Rita "cheated on me with almost 20 dudes while we were together".

If anything proves that the pop music mainstream still has quite a ways to go before it has achieved true acceptance of the LGBTQ community, it's the fact that both of these artists - who, again, are members of the LGBTQ community themselves - still have to worry about facing career repercussions for speaking up. "I though the song was a good song and i remember my experience", she wrote.

RITA ORA revealed she has had "romantic relationships" with women as well as men, in a bid to play down a storm of criticism from LGBT musicians about the lyrics to her latest song. She explained that she was ignorant at the time and after gaining knowledge about these terms, she stopped using them.

The "Bodak Yellow" singer took the moment to also apologize for her past use of gay slurs, loosely referencing a controversy a year ago when her fiancé Offset used the phrase "I can not vibe with queers" in a freestyle verse and she defended him.

While many people saw that this was Rita's way of coming out as bisexual herself, other identifying LGBTQ+ musicians saw the song as harmful to the community and reminded them of the days when they hadn't come out yet and were afraid to. "I know this wasn't the intention of the artists on the song, but it's the lack of consideration behind these lyrics that really get me". & have met them all and respect them.
