Shooting death of Pa. suspended school teacher ruled a homicide

Shooting death of Pa. suspended school teacher ruled a homicide

However, she was reportedly suspended last fall following allegations from a former Aliquippa High School student's mother.

Rachael DelTondo, 32, was shot after telling family that she was coming home from getting ice cream with a friend, WPXI reported.

"I counted six shots that I heard", Fred Poore, a neighbor, told KDKA about the shooting. She died at the scene.

The Beaver County Coroner's Office has ruled DelTondo's death a homicide.

Another neighbour, Dan Casper, added: "I don't know why that happened". She didn't bother anyone.

As KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reports, DelTondo was suspended from her teaching job at Pa. Cyber after confidential information allegedly leaked from the Aliquippa Police concerning her and a former student.

A police incident report revealed officers discovered the teacher with the boy at approximately 2 a.m.in a parked vehicle near Aliquippa Hospital, according to The Beaver Countian.

Police noted that 'the windows were steamed over and the engine was not running'.

Hayden said the school reported the incident to authorities under Pennsylvania law and placed DelTondo on paid suspension. When qeustioned by the officer, Deltondo claimed that she was just friends with the student and that they were only talking; police added that she claimed she was only talking with the teen because "he was upset and needed someone to talk to".

Officials at the school received an anonymous tip-off via email in October 2017 that claimed that she had been involved in an incident in which police found her in a parked auto with a student who was 17 at the time, reports the Daily Mail. Cops later found text messages and Snapchat messages which revealed the pair had a 'relationship'. The email address itself was fraudulent, and attempts to respond were returned as undeliverable.

The school announced they were suspending her the following month. She was suspended with pay. The report had not been made public until it was sent anonymously to the school.

No charges were brought against DelTondo over the incident, and police drove the teen home that evening. "Nobody, including Ms. Deltondo, the Aliquippa Police Department, the juvenile male or his family, or any other person or agency had informed PA Cyber of this or any other incident", Hayden told Times Online.

DelTondo, 32, died from the multiple gunshot wounds she sustained in the quiet neighborhood of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, according to police.

Brian Hayden, chief executive officer of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, has today released a statement after learning of DelTondo's death.

"We were saddened to learn of the tragic death of Rachel DelTondo, apparently the result of a violent incident in the City of Aliquippa".

Reportedly, her name was sometimes misspelled as "Rachel" in certain media publications concerning the story. We express our sympathy to her family, friends, and coworkers.

CBS Pittsburgh met DelTondo a year ago when she was the subject of a CBS Pittsburgh report as a bride-to-be in a dispute over her custom wedding dress. According to the report, her family wanted to go big when DelTondo got engaged.

Earlier previous year, DelTondo was in the press over a dispute with a bridal shop over her wedding dress.

DelTondo reportedly put a $4,600 non-refundable deposit down on the custom dress.

This is a developing story. But he never did that either, so they reached out to Get Marty for help.
