Ruthie Ann Miles Loses Unborn Child Months After Brooklyn Crash

Ruthie Ann Miles, a Tony Award winning actress, lost a second child to a horrific crash after a Staten Island woman allegedly struck several pedestrians in Park Slope, Brooklyn, according to media reports. Miles' 5-year-old daughter, Abigail, and Lew's 1-year-old son, Joshua, were both pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital.

Ruthie Ann Miles, 35 and her little daughter Abigail, 4 met with a horrific vehicle crash after a driver Dorothy Bruns, 44 crashed into them in March 2018 while they were walking from church.

Miles (her professional named) was hospitalized in intensive care after the crash but later said in a statement that she was healing.

"The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is almost impossible to fathom", he added.

The unborn child of Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles has died after the actress was hit by a driver who went through a red light in NY. The driver of a white Volvo, Dorothy Bruns, struck six people at the intersection that day, killing four-year-old Abigail Blumstein and one-year-old Joshua Lew as they walked with their mothers. Miles and husband Jonathan Blumenstein were expecting the child later in May. "They are overwhelmed by the sadness of the deaths of their children".

According to the Brooklyn DA's Office, Bruns' doctor told her not to drive weeks before the fatal accident.

Blumenstein's other credits included Sunday in the Park with George opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and playing Imelda Marcos in David Byrne's off-Broadway musical Here Lies Love. Driver Bruns, who suffers from MS, seizures, and failing health, was charged with manslaughter.

Miles was in her 39th week of pregnancy, the Journal reported.

Miles won a Tony for her performance as Lady Thiang in the 2015-2016 Lincoln Center Theater production of The King and I.
